Low production wells

is it common for a well to be plugged on a land owner's property due to low production? And if so what options does the land owner have after that,

If well is uneconomic, operators will eventually plug instead of losing money. Depending on your lease, the wellbore may be offered back to the landowner where the well is located to assume the well and/or ask to have it plugged back to a point where landowner anc use it for water well (if that is an option).
