"California households and businesses rely on inexpensive, emission-reducing natural gas to power the nation’s most populous state – and the world’s sixth-largest economy. The fact that California also produces and refines much of its own oil for transportation fuel and other uses, under the strictest environmental regulations in the country, means we are continuing a tradition of environmental stewardship that dates back more than 150 years."

Oh, this has to be an industry lie. No way that fossil fuels have a benefit. Only  if you believe the mentally deranged fractivists.

Fractivism is a mental disorder.

Environmentally safe, job creating, economy stimulating, oil and gas production is ahead for our area too. Unless the mentally deranged fractivists get in the way.

150 years in CA., with many more to come. The same is possible for our area.

The future's so bright we'll have to wear shades.

This is completely out of the context of the article, which actually compares one fossil fuel to another.

In other words, gas burns cleaner than coal.

Who knew?

Gas is cleaner than coal but is much less expensive than solar and wind. It is also abundant and a great match for the existing energy infrastructure. And it is reliable and stable.  Its that combination that makes nat gas a great energy source.

Solar and wind may be the future....if it gets cheaper. And even then, it will take time to install and integrate them along with ways to stabilize them as a source. Nat gas will allow us to buy time for wind and solar to get up to speed while reducing our carbon footprint at the same time.

We'll said Jim L.

I concur.

Concise and to the point.

Natural Gas is the energy source for the foreseeable future.

Fighting against it is a mental disorder.
